There are 10,000 fingerprints created for this work, an intentionally excessive amount created to explore the diversity of possibilities for a fingerprinting system. These were made as a reflection on systems of power, specifically how fingerprints can be used to classify and categorize, as well as prove identity through biometrics. The fingerprints created on paper were “catalogued” into a pile of paper encased in steel, while the prints themselves can only be viewed as digitized passing images.
